Shabbat Shalom!

On a quiet April Friday evening in Mt Helix, CA, an Askkenazi Jewish family hosted a beautiful Black~Jewish Shabbat with an African Latino Sephardic Jewish guest family. The April 12 evening blended Ashkenazi and Sephardic traditions as we shared matzoh ball soup, rice stuffed grape leaves, hummus, asparagus and delicious roast chicken with conversation about our traditions, love of golf, how we prepare for Pesach/Passover, our personal stories, recipes, and laughter.
