Join Kwanzaa Shabbat 2024!

Come Celebrate!

Hanukkah and Kwanzaa are connected and because the Jewish calendar is a lunar calendar, they are occuring at the same time this year (December 25 and December 26, respecitively). Therefore on December 13, we are hosting a Kwanzaa Shabbat in San Diego at Temple Emanu-El.

San Diego's Black and Jewish communities are invited to worship together, then eat a delicious dinner (ft for vegans, vegetarians and omnivores!) while learning about the history and connection between Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. Then....we will DANCE to some good tunes in celebraiton of our shared and collective resilience and joy!
